Copy of The Energy Behind the Question

ree

Everyone I run into lately is running on fumes and overscheduled. After sending out an invite for our annual Winter Solstice gathering, I could immediately sense the collective tension—people struggling to figure out how to fit in one more thing.

It’s the way of the world these days. But it’s no longer my way. And if I may, I gently invite you to consider if it truly needs to be yours.

The truth is: we create our reality. Every single minute of every single day—whether we realize it or not. We are choosing how our lives look and feel. So I’m asking you—yes, right

now—to pause for five minutes (yes, you deserve five minutes) and ask yourself:

How am I living my life today… in this moment?

Because busy is its own kind of pandemic.

We chase holiday checklists. Say yes to events we’re not excited about. Buy gifts that don’t hold meaning. Show up from obligation rather than heart. Somewhere in all of that swirl, our inner peace gets buried under the pile of shoulds.

And here’s what I know from years of energy work and self-inquiry:

That swirl? It’s below-the-line energy.

It’s an energetic frequency that might not be seen—but is absolutely felt. It’s coming from a place of urgency, pressure, comparison, guilt, and performance.

And it’s not aligned with authenticity.

And people can feel it.

We’re wired to sense when someone is operating from love… or from fear. From truth… or from ego. From grounded presence… or from a need to prove or perform.

And let’s be honest—what the world is craving right now is authenticity. Not more polished posts or frantic gatherings, but honest, heart-centered connection.

A Thanksgiving Glimpse

Just yesterday, I was writing our Thanksgiving grocery list. It’ll be a smaller gathering this year—some of our adult kids have other plans, my in-laws are visiting family in California, and a few have to work.

As I was running through the plans with my husband, he said,

“You’d better get the turkey today before they’re all gone.”

And I could feel that old urgency creeping in.

But I paused, took a breath, and reminded myself:

That pressure is a lie.

I did go to the store later. And guess what? There were plenty of turkeys—every shape and size you could imagine.

We get so swept up in the urgency of the season, in the scarcity myths and manufactured pressure (don’t even get me started on Black Friday), that we lose our sense of center.

But calm is always available to us.

And that… is true gratitude.

From My Heart to Yours

I’m not here to shame anyone—I’ve done my share of holiday hustle. But this year, there’s a deep impulse in me to slow down, unplug, and cozy up in my metaphorical cave. Not out of avoidance, but out of devotion. To calm. To clarity. To love.

So, here’s what I’m choosing:

✨ To release the pressure.

✨ To stay above the line

.✨ To remember that presence is the gift.

✨ To savor moments—not checklists.

If any of this resonates with you, take it as a little permission slip. You don’t have to do it all. You don’t have to feel frantic to feel festive. What you do have to be… is you.

Sending you warmth, calm, and love this holiday season.

With heart,

ree
