A Different Kind of Social Media

I recently had the joy of connecting with a group of women at a retreat in Costa Rica, where we came together to play, surf, and share our wisdom with one another. During our time together, I spoke about one of my favorite topics: The Power of Why rooted in Intention. I also shared an article from my weekly Mindful Moments on Substack on this very topic (if you missed it, you can find it HERE).

To my surprise, most of the women weren’t familiar with Substack or the unique magic of this platform—one that feels more like a nurturing community than traditional social media.

Here are my two cents on why I think you should check out Substack

In today's digital age, finding a space that fosters genuine connection and meaningful interaction is rare. This is precisely why I adore Substack. Unlike other social media platforms, where it often feels like a competition of who can showcase the best version of their lives, there is a sense on many platforms of a “look at me” that lacks authenticity, whereas Substack stands out as a beacon of authenticity and warmth.

I find immense joy in following authors like Sarah Blondin, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Katherine May. Their Substack communities offer a unique space where I can engage directly with them, delve into their insights, and be part of a community that values depth and genuine interaction. The warmth and sincerity of these spaces are a refreshing change from the superficial nature of other platforms.

It's also worth noting that platforms like LinkedIn serve a different purpose. LinkedIn is much more business-oriented, a place where we can gather news, understand company dynamics, and gain a business perspective. It has a different 'why' and intention behind it, catering to professional growth and networking. Both platforms have their unique strengths, serving different aspects of our lives and contributing in their own valuable ways.

What sets Substack apart is its focus and intention on authentic connection rather than comparison. Here, it's not about who can outshine others but rather about fostering a supportive environment where individuals can learn, share, and grow together. This sense of community truly warms my heart and keeps me coming back.

Moreover, there’s a distinctly feminine vibe and vibration on Substack. It feels more collaborative, with a strong emphasis on female-to-female support and loving energy, rather than competition. This nurturing atmosphere is a testament to the power of genuine connection and collaboration. (Note: For those in the mortgage space, it feels in the same vain as the mPower community through the Mortage Banking Association- find the link HERE: Mpower)

The Best New Platform for communities desiring to:

LOVE, empower and support one another! 💓

As I share this with my Mindful Moments audience, I encourage you to explore Substack. It's a platform that aligns with the values of authenticity and community that we cherish.

Stay tuned for some special offers I have coming up in March on this wonderful platform.
